Honoring Enterprise’s Fallen Tornado Victims
As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility program to give back to our community, our employees volunteer their time to help clean public monuments and non-profit charity facilities. On the 16th anniversary of the March 1, 2007 tornado which hit Enterprise, two of our employees volunteered their time as a labor of love to clean the city’s memorial to the citizen who died on that horrible day. Recently while picking up his son at Hillcrest Elementary School, our Director of Operations Scott McMahan noticed the condition of the Tornado Victim Memorial. The big problem was the bacteria Gloeocapsa Magma, growing on the brickwork and concrete walkways. So, Scott enlisted the help of Exterior Projects Supervisor Robert Green and the pair borrowed a company exterior “SoftWash” service truck and got to work. Arriving early, they carefully moved all of the mementos at each brick pillar, removed trash and debris, and then softwashed the structures. Afterwards, both men returned all mementos to respective locations. Enterprise is a wonderful and caring community. Thank you to Scott and Robert for your service and for ensuring the Tornado Memorial reflects the proper image of care, honor, and remembrance.

Above, bacteria, algae, moss, dirt, stains, and other accumulations mar the Tornado Victims Memorial. After the SoftWash system cleaning by Scott and Robert, visitors now have a clean and presentable memorial to pay their respects and remember the fallen.
