Softwashing

Our team offers outstanding softwashing services to keep your property in excellent condition.

For a long time, the most popular method of exterior cleaning was pressure washing—in fact, for many years, it was practically the only method. However, in more recent years, experts have developed an alternative technique called softwashing. Our team at Veterans Cleaning Solutions LLC uses both methods, but we use them for different applications. In this article, we’ll explain how softwashing works, which applications it is best for, and why.

Softwashing

Unlike pressure washing, which uses water pressure alone to remove dirt and grime, softwashing uses a specialized cleaning solution. The cleaning agents in this solution emulsify dirt particles to make them easier to remove. In addition, the cleaning products are designed to kill harmful contaminants such as mold, mildew, algae, and bacteria. These organisms are known to cause stains on exterior surfaces, and over time, they damage the material they are on as well. By eliminating these contaminants, our softwashing team achieves a more thorough and long-lasting clean, and this method will also keep your exterior surfaces in much better long-term condition.

While our team does offer pressure washing as well as softwashing, we use softwashing for most applications. We do this because, in addition to offering the benefits we listed above, softwashing is also gentler on its target surfaces. The intense pressure used in pressure washing has been known to damage materials such as shingles, siding, wood, etc., but softwashing is gentle enough that this is not a risk.
